Saint James the Apostle School

Our halls are filled with the most magnificent quarterly projects created by our grades 6-8.  The projects stem from the social studies curriculum and the children have truly outdone themselves.  We have American Indian habitats with actual flickering fireplaces and Egyptian dwellings with running water!  We have successfully created a program which honors the importance of a content driven curriculum.  The children write for a purpose and are held to a very strict writing standard.  We want them to easily put together the required college essay in the future and to pick up a book to read for pleasure.  We strive to keep a program in place that allows for individual talents to shine through while maintaining the highest standard of learning.  We are creating thinkers and doers!

We invite you to come to Mass with us each Friday and enjoy first and foremost the celebration of the Mass but also our children.  We are very proud of how wonderful they look in their uniforms but also at how much they have become a part of the Friday morning Mass.  Our school is truly a Catholic School in every way possible.  Father Sorgie, Father Vincent and Father John teach each week in every grade and are as familiar to the children as we are.  The children are in uniform every day of the year which automatically transforms their demeanor and sense of decorum.  The day is infused with values and the teachings of our Church, whether it be on the playground or in math class.  Most importantly, the children have a sense of what it means to give of themselves to each other and their community.  We continually have alumni coming back to the school for a variety of reasons, always looking to keep a foot in the door because Saint James has become so important in their lives.
