Mrs. Valerie Crocco
welcome
to our web site!
As you browse through the many wonderful things we have to offer at St. James the Apostle School, I’d like to take this
opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. I received my
Bachelor of Science degree from American International College in
Springfield, Ma. in Elementary Education. I was thrilled to secure a
position as a third grade teacher in Stamford, Ct. My first experience
was an exciting one as I was placed in a magnet school which adopted the
Bank Street Program. After three years of teaching, I left to stay home
with my first child. While home with my girls, I earned my Master’s
Degree from Western Connecticut State University in Child and Adolescent
Study. After 11 years, with both of my children in school, I decided to
get back to teaching. I found a job at St. James in September of 1991.
I started as an upper grade social studies teacher and stayed with this
position
for 5 years. I then moved down to third grade. After 9 years
in the classroom I was offered the position of principal. I am now in
my 5th year as principal and have found this to be one of the
most challenging and rewarding jobs I have ever encountered, second only
to motherhood. I hope that after browsing through our web site you will
take the time to come and visit us.
We are excited about what we are
doing and where we are going!
